My New Toe Pincher Coffin...
currently under construction! (updated 9/05/02)

I built this out of one sheet of 3/8" OSB ($5.00 at Home Depot).
The walls are 10" tall and I braced the joints with 1x2's.  I am not making a lid for this coffin.
I plan on 'Monster Mudding' the inside walls and front edge.  Also, the sides will look like panels.
I will make this out of foam board ($7.00 at Home Depot).  Foam board is light weight and is easy to distress. I will paint the whole thing black, then dry brush in white, brown, green, gray, ect...
Left over foam board will be used to make more tombstones!

Here is my design.
The blue 45 degree line is just for layout reference.
I braced the joints with 1x2's.

My son Jimmy approves!

Starting to "Mud" the thing. Close up of the bottom. Foam board panels

Coffin "Mudded Out" Materials for "Mudding" Distressed with sandpaper

Me torching the panels! ...after torching. A little last minute mudding.

Ready to Paint!! That's it... ALL DONE!! Close up...

Note:
~ Lightly torching the panels really adds to an old
weathered look (don't breathe the vapers!).
~  I first painted the coffin black.  Then,  I lightly "dry-brushed" white, brown, and tan.
