The Baker Hotel
Mineral Wells, Tx

09/07/02

Possible sighting HERE.
Three photos were taken right after one another.  I did this because the first one showed
a bright light on the preview on the camera.  I showed it to my friend Greg, and I decided
to take a couple more "just to be sure".  The bright light was gone on the other two photos.
However after close inspection of the last one, I found these strange figures on the balcony!

Hearse hobbyists planning weekend visit to the Baker
Alex Lohmann stands in front of his restored 1956 Pontiac Star Chief. Lohmann, who owns a casket store in Garland, and other members of the Dallas Trocars are planning an overnight visit to the Baker Hotel this weekend. They are coming to display their hearses and to see for themselves if there's anything to the famous hotel's ghost stories.

The Baker...
Outside pics waiting for the Trocar Club's arrival.
We arrived about 30 minute prior.
Back it's heyday.

The Arrival...
Here they are!
Four coaches showed.
Damn, I need to get of those things!!!

The Pool...
This was supposedly the first "Olympic" size pool in Texas!
Interestingly, this is not an "in-ground" pool, but rather an "above-ground' pool.  Actually, during our tour, we got to go UNDER the pool!  It had very low ceilings, and was used as a make shift storage area.
This was a small kitchen/refreshment area for the pool guests.

The Lobby...
Upon our first arrival... Strange white light in this photo late into
the evening.
I took a couple of extra pics to see if would happen again... instead, I got a strange image on the balcony!   "Victoria" has been "seen" here!!

Here is the last pic above and on the far right.  It looks like two figures on the balcony!

What do you see??
Brightened... Added contrast.... Zoomed in !

Wanda gave our
group the tour.
An elevator!  Yes, it is an elevator! Orbs!!!  Everywhere!!!
They must be waiting for the doors to open!

The Brazos Room...
I really wish I would of taken more pics of this room!!  It was a nice big room with lots of rose tinted mirrors.
We got a strong "Milk-Dud" odor here.  We marked the spot with a chair.
I personally smelled the chocolate odor here.  It was VERY strong.  Later, I went back to see if I could still smell it, and it was gone!  <cool>

The Gymnasium...
This was another one of my favorite rooms!  The floors were old broken up hardwoods.  The ceilings were high.  This space takes up two floors.  Their was old torn up red drapes hanging from the upper walls.  I went back to this several times.
These two pics kinda suck... nice people just looking around.  The quality of the pics isn't too good.  You can see flashlight trails... Pic of Alex being serious...  This was the first pic that I noticed the "Orbs".   "I got Orbs!!" "I want a pic of me
with Orbs!"
"OK, OK...  Get a a pic of me too..."  Nice pose! searching, searching....

feel that cold spot?

...feeling the "cold Spot" at her fingertips.

The Ball Room...
This was another room I liked.  I don't know why, it was just a cool room. Me posing on the stage in the Ballroom. My turn, my turn...

This is where a lady jumped to her death.
Don't do it Bonnie!!!
The Ballroom is on the top (11th) floor.
And it is surrounded by a balcony which we were NOT allowed to venture.
It was raining outside... and inside here!
Bonnie, Traci and Greg

The Spa area...
What was really cool about this area was that this equipment really does work!!!
...what's that strange glow in that last pic???  Ohhhh... nevermind...  flashlight.

The Baker Suite...
This is another room I regret I didn't take enough pics.  There was a pantry that
had a secret area (for booze), the ceiling was nice, the tile work, ect...

Misc pics...
Caretaker showing off some old shoes
she found in the hotel.

Thats all... we had a GREAT time and want to go back!!!
